Leadership Training

A major aim of our program is to prepare graduates for roles of leadership in the community, the academic arena or in government service. A special emphasis is placed upon the recruitment and career development of individuals prepared to address the oral health issues of children in the coming decades. Leadership development and training are provided through participation in professional conferences, seminars and through formal leadership development activities that are supported by the MCH Center. Child advocacy experiences are obtained through externships in the State's Division of Dentistry and federal agencies.

The three Centers in the USA (University of Washington, Iowa and UNC-CH) are up for competitive renewal for 2007-12; accordingly, the support for all three Centers is uncertain beyond June 30, 2007.
