Leave of Absence

The intense nature of dental education and the progressive development of patient care skills requires continuous enrollment. Therefore, except for bona fide medical conditions that compromise continued enrollment, a temporary leave of absence from the School of Dentistry is not possible. To qualify for a medical leave of absence, a student must present a letter from a physician stating the (1) nature of the medical condition, (2) reason why the student cannot continue in school, (3) expected duration of the condition, and (4) prognosis for successful resolution of the condition.
