Honor Code

It shall be the responsibility of every student at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to obey and to support the enforcement of the Honor Code, which prohibits lying, cheating, or stealing when these actions involve academic processes or University, student, or academic personnel acting in an official capacity. In situations where a question of honesty is involved, consideration of the case may be undertaken by the school's Honor Court or the administration, depending on the circumstances. Breaches of honesty relating to the academic program are clearly within the purview of the Honor Court. The school's administration may assume responsibility only after it is established that the case does not come under the jurisdiction of the Honor Court.
