For your convenience we participate in the PASS program. Application through PASS is required for admission to our program. Our PASS application deadline is September 1st this year to be considered for the class that begins the following July. Faculty members review all applications and then a selected group of prospective residents are invited to a personal interview in early October. Final acceptance of residents is announced early November.

All prospective residents must hold a DDS, DMD or equivalent degree from a dental school. Additional training such as AGD or GPR, or practice experience is recommended but not required. Admission criteria are applied equally to all applicants regardless of race, sex, national origin or religion. The University of North Carolina and the Department encourage minority resident applications.
Each applicant must complete the background check questions and return them to the program director.
International applicants must submit official academic records bearing the signature of the registrar or another academic official and either a raised or ink stamp or seal of the issuing institution. Records must be issued in the original language and be accompanied by certified English translations. International students are required to take the TOEFL exam, with a minimum total score of 550 for the paper based test or 213 for the computer based test. The exam score must be current (less than two years old). When registering for the test, you should indicate the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Graduate School (institution #5816) as a score recipient. The TOEFL test is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), CN6151, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6151. You should take the test no later than May to ensure that your score arrives by the application deadline. International students must submit a financial certification as part of the application. A completed Financial Certificate outlining financial support available to you from your home country, along with original evidence to support the amounts indicated (bank statements, scholarship letters, etc.), must be submitted along with your application for admission. 2008-2009 Financial Certificate
Currently, this academic year, there are nine endodontic residents of which six are US citizens, and one from each of the following countries Canada, China and Spain.
