Dr. John Ludlow

The Department of Diagnostic Sciences, Oral Radiology Section, at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill offers a three-year postdoctoral program leading to a Master of Science degree conferred by the Graduate School of the University. The program prepares qualified oral and maxillofacial radiology specialists for positions of responsibility in institutions of higher dental education, research, or in the private practice setting. Participants gain experience in oral and maxillofacial radiologic practice; acquire background information in radiation physics, biology, and protection; and enhance their teaching and research skills. Upon completion of all requirements, each student is eligible for examination and certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

This program may be combined with other educational programs in the basic sciences, oral biology, or epidemiology leading to a doctoral degree in the chosen field. The length of the combined program will be determined jointly by the two departments.
