Applications must be received by September 1.

PROCEDURES

For your convenience we participate in the PASS program. Application through PASS is required for admission to our program. PASS application materials and instructions may be obtained by contacting:

Completed applications must be received by the UNC School of Dentistry no later than September 1 to be considered for the class that begins the following August. The Pass deadline is September 1st.  In addition to the Pass application, we request that the following items be submitted directly to the department: Letters of reference (minimum of 3), official transcripts, official national board scores, and a passport size photograph. The GRE is not required.  Please note that final acceptance requires a personal interview, which generally takes place in October or November. Participation through the Postdoctoral Matching Services is required for admission to our program. Applications may be obtained by writing:

Admission criteria are applied equally to all applicants regardless of race, sex, color, national origin, or religion. We encourage minority students to apply.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must posses a DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree.

BACKGROUND CHECK

Each applicant must complete the background check questions and return them to the program director.
 
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International applicants must submit official academic records bearing the signature of the registrar or another academic official and either a raised or ink stamp or seal of the issuing institution. Records must be issued in the original language and be accompanied by certified English translations.

International students are required to take the TOEFL exam, with a minimum total score of 550 and a minimum score of 50 in each section. The exam score must be current (less than two years old). When registering for the test, you should indicate the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Graduate School (institution #5816) as a score recipient. The TOEFL test is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), CN6151, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6151. You should take the test no later than October to ensure that your score arrives by the application deadline.

International students must submit a financial certification as part of the Graduate School application. A completed Financial Certificate outlining financial support available to you, along with original evidence to support the amounts indicated (bank statements, scholarship letters, etc.).
