An application can also be requested online. Submit the completed application and official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. It is recommended that a contact be made with the Coordinator of the Degree Completion Program as soon as your application is returned to the Undergraduate Admissions Office. This will enable the Dental Hygiene Office to follow the progress of the application through the University. A personal interview is required for each applicant after the application is received. Appointments can be arranged to accommodate individual schedules by contacting the program secretary at (919) 966-2800. Three letters of recommendation are required and should be mailed to the Student Services Manager or the Coordinator of the Degree Completion Program.
Applicants must be graduates of an accredited dental hygiene program and must have passed the National Dental Hygiene Board Examination. Transfer students must have achieved an overall grade point average of "C" (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) in all courses attempted at other universities and eligible to return to those campuses. Freshman and sophomore transfer students transferring less than 50 semester hours of college coursework must submit their SAT test scores to the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Transcripts from all colleges attended are required. Individuals who graduated from high school in 1988 or after must present the following 16 academic units from high school in order to be eligible for admission consideration:
Applicants who are deficient in any of the minimum admission requirements will be eligible for transfer consideration only if the following conditions are met: 24 transferable semester hours in the following areas:
