Keyboard Disinfection


Laptops in Patient Treatment Areas

Keyboard covers MUST be used in all patient treatment areas.
(Custom-fit covers may be purchased from UNC Student Stores.)

Avoid contact with keyboard while wearing contaminated gloves.

Keyboard covers MUST be disinfected during operatory clean-up, before laptop is closed and transported.

  • Paper towel or 2x2 gauze dampened with disinfectant
  • Hands protected with (clean) gloves
  • Disinfectant wipes may be used when available

Never wipe screen with disinfectant solutions


Laptops Brough to OCIS for Repair

Keyboard covers must be disinfected or removed prior to presenting laptop to OCIS for repair.
