News & EventsWith the onset of the New Year, we often determine that we want to make some changes in our lives, which often include rekindling former relationships. We would like to invite you to consider rekindling your relationship with your fellow alumni through the UNC Dental Hygiene Alumni Association. Do not consider this a resolution for the New Year, but a commitment to fellow alumni and the UNC Dental Hygiene Program to shape the future of our alumni association.
Members of the UNC Dental Hygiene Alumni Association met during Alumni Weekend to discuss the future of their association and to interact with fellow alumni. Everyone enjoyed reflecting on the past of the UNC Dental Hygiene Program. We were honored to have a graduate from the first UNC Dental Hygiene classes among us. Mrs. Elsie Haithcock Bolick made the presentation on Dental Hygiene through the Decades much more meaningful with her accounts as a student in the first UNC Dental Hygiene class. Activities also included a continuing education program; Herbal Therapies Update presented by Charlotte A. Peterson, RDH, MS, Clinical Associate Professor with Allied Dental Education Programs at the UNC School of Dentistry. As part of the revitalization efforts, the Association Chairperson will be identifying various individuals in each class to assist in contacting their former classmates in an attempt to increase membership and participation in the Association. If you are interesting in contacting your former classmates, please indicate your desire using the Foster the Future form located on our website. We hope to accomplish much of our communication via email. The UNC Dental Hygiene Alumni Association would like for you to consider being an active member of your association. The UNC Dental Hygiene Program will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2005 and we would like to make the celebration a success by increasing alumni membership and participation. A membership form is accessible on our website. Revitalization of the UNC Dental Hygiene Alumni Association will be challenging, but greatly rewarding for us all. We hope that we can count on you as alumni to become active in your association. We invite you to commit yourself to your past and help us to shape our future. Charlotte A.
