Password Information

PASSWORD OVERVIEW

Dentistry password

  • In combination with Dentistry user name, grants access to School of Dentistry computer network and to email accounts with addresses ending with @dentistry.unc.edu
  • Has to be changed every 90 days.  Old passwords can not be re-used.

  • Has to be at least 8 characters in length, contain at least one numeral and one special character.  See detailed password rules.

EPR password

  • In combination with EPR numeric login, grants access to Dentistry's Electronic Patient Records

  • Has to be changed every 90 days.  Old passwords can not be re-used.

  • Has to be at least 8 characters in length, contain at least one numeral and one special character

ONYEN password

  • In combination with ONYEN account name, grants access to various campus systems.  Visit ONYEN web site for more information.

  • Has to be changed every 90 days.  Old passwords can not be re-used.

  • Has to be at least 8 characters in length, contain at least one numeral and one special character

HOW TO CHANGE PASSWORD

Dentistry password

There are several methods to changing Dentistry password.  Click here for instructions.

EPR password

Start up and login to the EPR or Student Evaluatoin system as usual.  Click on the “HELP” drop down menu.  Click on the option to “Change Password” and follow the instructions.

ONYEN password

Go to ONYEN web page and select "Manage Password" from the menu.  Follow on-screen instructions.

PASSWORD TIPS

Use the same password for Dentistry, EPR and ONYEN - this way you only have one password to remember

When you change one of the passwords - change the other ones too to keep them consistent

Keep your password secure -  never post your password on your monitor, underneath your keyboard or in any unlocked location where it can be easily obtained by an unauthorized person; don't give your password to anybody except OCIS staff working on your computer; never reveal your password over the telephone unless you can verify the person's identity
