Technical Knowledge: Ability to acquire knowledge of the unit quickly, organization and standard operational procedures for an ambulatory care facility including administering and monitoring IV sedation protocols on patient as well as sound knowledge of recovery of patients from all types of sedations.
Working Knowledge of the Pyxis system and the ability to track drug dispensing, statistical tracking of anesthesia for accreditation standards.
Consulting / Advising:Ability to provide feedback and guidance to staff in the department about patient care
Critical Thinking: Ability to implement nursing process to assess, plan implement and evaluate procedures and nursing protocol, anesthesia administration with limited supervision.
Client/Customer Service: Ability to work as a team player with all staff within both the Resident Clinic and OMFS Clinic. Ability to deliver services to patients and other health care professionals within and outside the department in a timely, methodical manner. Ability to assist patients of how to access required health care needs as it pertain to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Communication: Must be able to use communication techniques to assist patients in describing their symptoms and assist in discerning the situation in an organized manner. Ability to communicate information to patients and their families pre, during and post procedures in an easily descriptive manner in a succinct

The salary grade equivalent for this position is 55.

BS in Biology or related field. Due to work with biologically hazardous pathogens, person must demonstrate exemplary safety knowledge and skills. Prefer minimum 3 years laboratory experience. Candidate must have extensive experiene in pipetting and aliquotting. Must have experience in using the following laboratory equipment: Gel electrophoresis, GeneSnap:gel imaging, NanoDrop, High throughput plate spectrophotometer; Centrifuge; Plate reader; PCR. Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word, SAS/Genetics Software, JMP (Statistical Discovery). Needs knowledge of reconstructing haplotypes for genes. Must have at least 1 year experience in processing blood to plasma, RBCs, lymphocytes, RNA, and lymphoplasma. Must be highly organized and detail oriented; will be responsible for the organization, storage and inventory of all patient specimens at UNC and 3 other sites. Must have training in shipping and receiving biohazardous materials. Position will be recruiting patients for clinical research study.

Considerable knowledge of basic animal behavior and molecular/cell biological techniques, office techniques; ability to practice effective communication techniques both orally and in writing; ability to analyze, interpret, recommend, and implement protocols, policy and procedural guidelines ability to record and edit video. Skill in organizing work flow and coordinating activities. Must have experience in processing blood to plasma, RBCs, lymphocytes, RNA, and lymphoplasma.

This position is being recruited for at the Journey Competency Level under this Career Banding program. The hiring range for this position is $23,000 - $40,590. The salary grade equivalent for this position is 63.

This position provides the initial computer support by phone or for walk-in clients at the front desk of the School's Office of Computing and Information Systems and also does the office management tasks. The position is expected to resolve routine computer problems and refer more difficult problems to the support analysts. As such, the position requires; (1) a good working knowledge of Windows, MS office, and other common software; (2) a basic knowledge of Windows networking; (3) help desk experience or related skills; (4) customer service and office management skills; (5) being a quick learner, and (6) consistently starting the workday at 7:30 AM.

Prefer a past or present UNC employee familiar with university procedures and financial systems. Prefer an associates's degree in a computer related field or computer related course work in a bachelor's level program.
