Faculty Appointments

	Dr. Ralph H. Leonard Jr. clinical associate professor in the department of diagnostic sciences and general dentistry was named director of the UNC Faculty Practice effective Oct. 15, 1998.
Dr. Kenneth N. May, Jr., associate professor in operative dentistry, has been named associate dean for administration and planning at the UNC School of Dentistry, effective Nov. 1, 1998. Both positions were previously held by Dr. Sharon Turner who became dean at the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry Oct. 1, 1998.
	Dr. William Maixner, associate professor in endodontics and co-director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Pain Program has been named associate dean of academic affairs effective Jan. 1, 1999. He replaces Dr. Ron Hunt who became dean at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry Sept. 1, 1998.
