Administrative Appointments
Dr. William D. Brunson, Jr. has been appointed Assistant Dean for Predoctoral Education effective April 1, 1999. In his new position, Dr. Brunson will continue to assume his current administrative responsibilities associated with predoctoral education, supervising the recruitment of prospective students, chairing and coordinating the predoctoral Admissions Committee, providing oversight of the selection process, management of the recruitment budget and coordinating the enrollment and orientation of new predoctoral students. In addition, as Assistant Dean for Predoctoral Education he will assume a number of new responsibilities and duties including the scheduling of the DDS curriculum, monitoring of student progress, oversight of the DDS Teaching and Curriculum Committees, liaison with DDS, DA, DH class presidents and coordinating the collection and review of DDS teaching evaluations.
Dr. Carolyn Booker has been named Director for Student Services effective April 1, 1999. Dr. Booker will continue to execute her current duties, which include coordination of under-represented minorities activities, tutorial programs for predoctoral students and counseling services of predoctoral and graduate students. In addition, she will assume a number of new responsibilities and duties including: coordination of the Scholarship and Financial Aid Program for predoctoral students; participation in the Honor Court System as the representative from the School of Dentistry's Office of Academic Affairs; coordination of predoctoral student orientations. She will also be a liaison to student organization (e.g. Spurgeon, ASDA, SNDA, AAWD) and participate in the School's Administrative Staff Meetings.
