Felton Elected VP of American College of Prosthodontists
Dr. David Felton, chair and associate professor of prosthodontics, was inducted as vice president of the American College of Prosthodontists at its annual session Friday, Oct. 22, 1999 in New York City. Felton graduated from the School of Dentistry in 1977 and also earned a masters in prosthodontics from the school in 1984.
At the same meeting Dr. Sompop Bencharit, a PhD student in the oral biology program, was awarded second place in the John J. Sharry Research Competition for his paper "An In-vitro Radiographic Evaluation of Perio-implant Bone." UNC School of Dentistry alumnus Dr. Michael McCracken, class of '93, took first place in the competition.
Dr. Chatchai Kunavisarut, third year student in the graduate prosthodontics program, was awarded second place for his table clinic presentation "Finite Element Analysis on Dental Implant-supported Prostheses Without Passive Fit"
