Douglas Berkey, DMD, MPH, MS, joined the UNC School of Dentistry faculty October 1 as the Carolyn Knuemann Distinguished Professor of Geriatric/Special Care Dentistry. His appointment is in the department of dental ecology. Berkey comes to UNC from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry where he was the chairman of the department of applied dentistry for 11 years. His dental degree is from the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry. He also has masters' degrees in public health dentistry and geriatric dentistry.
