Thank You Dental Alumni and Friends

Thanks to the tremendous support of North Carolinians, the $3.1 billion Higher Education Improvement bond referendum passed November 7 with more than $20 million targeted to the School of Dentistry. More than 70 percent of voters supported the bond. Over the next six years, the $3.1 billion will be used to improve and expand facilities at the 16 campuses of the university system and the state's 59 community colleges.

Proceeds form the bond will bring much-needed renovations to the school. The original School of Dentistry building will undergo a comprehensive renovation, from operatory to general academic use. Brauer Hall will also have extensive renovation, including improvements to meet the Americans with Disability Act requirements, asbestos abatement, new sprinkler and fire alarm systems and upgrades to electrical and telecommunications systems.
