Graduate Students Receive Awards

Two graduate students from the department of diagnostic sciences and general dentistry received awards at the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Academy meeting Nashville, Tenn. in November.

Suchaya Pornprasertsuk, a PhD student in oral biology, won the William H. Rollins award for the most outstanding research project completed by an oral and maxillofacial radiology graduate student. Her project used fractal dimensional analysis and digital x-ray receptors for assessing bone loss due to reduced gravity environments. The award amount is $500.

Andre Mol, a graduate student in oral and maxillofacial radiology, was the first recipient of the Radiology Centennial Scholarship Award. This award recognizes the most outstanding graduate student in oral and maxillofacial radiology and has a value of $5,000.
