CCID External Advisory Board Meets

The External Advisory Board of the CCID met at the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill on Friday, May 25. Patrick Flood, director of the CCID, welcomed board members and representatives Edward Brooks, associate provost for UNC-Chapel Hill Health Affairs; Dominick DePaola of The Forsyth Institute in Boston; Linda Dykstra, professor of psychology and pharmacology, interim vice provost, and dean of the UNC-Chapel Hill Graduate School; Dennis Gillings, chairman of Quintiles Transnational Corporation; Alan Horwitz, professor of cell biology at the University of Virginia Health System; Eugene Orringer, professor and executive, associate dean for faculty affairs, UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine; Yacov Ron, associate professor of molecular genetics and microbiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey; and Toshiyuki Tanaka, general manager of Sunstar Inc. The board advises the CCID on the progress with respect to its strategic direction and on general institutional issues and comments on the appropriateness of new initiatives and progress in achievement of goals.
