Nesbit Receives Teaching Award
Sam Nesbit, clinical associate professor, department
of diagnostic sciences and general dentistry recently received the
distinguished faculty award from the Organization of Teachers of Oral
Diagnosis that recognizes and honor members for outstanding contributions
to the field of oral diagnosis, excellence in teaching, and selfless
service to the profession of dentistry. Nesbit, a member of the faculty
since 1983, also received the school' s most prestigious teaching
award, the Richard F. Hunt Award for Teaching Excellence, twice, in
1986 and 1994. He also received the Paul Gibbons Award for Teaching
Excellence at the University of Michigan where he taught before coming
to UNC-Chapel Hill.
