Al Guckes named Interim Assistant Dean for Predoctoral Education and Admissions

On Wednesday, September 3, Dean Stamm and Dr. Maixner announced  that Dr. Albert Guckes, associate professor, department of prosthodontics, will assume the position of Interim Assistant Dean for Predoctoral Education and Admissions. This appointment is formally effective September 1. Dean Stamm noted that Dr. Guckes will need a bit of time to get acquainted with the personnel in Academic Affairs, to absorb the responsibilities and procedures he inherits, and to eye the priority issues that will demand his earliest attention.

"In making the shift to the Predoctoral Education and Admissions Office, I hope that Dr. Guckes will be welcomed by the student body, its leadership, and the various class officers active in the School," said Dean Stamm.  "Moreover, I hope that he will be enthusiastically assisted by the excellent team that turns the wheels in our Academic Affairs Office. I am confident Dr. Guckes will be able to count on advice and help from Dr. Dave Brunson, the very recently retired Assistant Dean."

The School is pleased to welcome Dr. Guckes to his new position and wish him every success as he embarks on this new course.
