Homecoming Parade 6 PM Friday

The GAA and the Carolina Athletic Association invite you to attend this
year's Homecoming parade. In supporting the spirit of Homecoming and
assisting with festivities across campus, the GAA and CAA are working to
instill enthusiasm and participation for parade goers and participants
alike.
The parade will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at the Bell Tower, where
parade entrants will assemble in the Bell Tower Parking Lot. The route will
turn right onto South Road, left onto Raleigh Street, then turn left at
Cameron Avenue and end at the Old Well.
With the help of Chapel Hill police and traffic control, the entire
parade route will be closed to all other traffic, and parade entries can be
viewed from both sides of each street. Please show your support for
Homecoming by finding a spot along the route to cheer and greet those who
have worked hard to bring you a campus parade.
Entries include student and community organizations, the UNC Marching Tar
Heels, and Homecoming king and queen contestants. Creativity should be at a
peak since prizes will be awarded in various categories.
If you are remaining on campus for "Late Night with Roy Williams," please
stop by the Alumni Center for our Countdown Party, 7:30-9:30 p.m. The event
is free and open to the public. Food and beverages will be available for
purchase, and the Alumni Hall will play host to former athletes, games and
door prize giveaways, including tickets to the UNC-Duke men's basketball
game. DJ Skip Ellis will be on hand to provide additional entertainment. The
Countdown Party is serving as a great meeting spot for friends walking over
to the Smith Center for the debut of Roy Williams at Carolina and the
2003-04 women's and men's basketball program.
