RESEARCH AT THE UNC CRANIOFACIAL CENTER You and/or your child may be asked to participate in one or more of the following studies. We hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities and help us fulfill our research mission.

The UNC Craniofacial Center is proud to conduct research sponsored by the federal government (National Institutes of Health). Currently, at least 3 studies are ongoing:

Speech and Respiratory Aerodynamics in Cleft Palate
(Dr. Dave Zajac, Principal Investigator)
	The purpose of this study is to determine the breathing and speech airflow patterns of children with repaired cleft palate. The results may help us to improve the speech of children with cleft palate.
Craniofacial Outcomes Registry
(Dr. B.J. Philips, Principal Investigator)
	The purpose of this study is to collect information on the treatments provided to patients at the center. The results may help us provide the best possible treatment to all individuals with craniofacial conditions.
Quality of Life of Youth with Craniofacial Conditions
(Dr. Ronald Strauss, Principal Investigator; Carla Fenson, Coordinator)
	The purpose of this study is to collect information on life experiences of teenagers with facial differences. The goal of this project is to describe the impact of congenital and acquired craniofacial conditions on the health and quality of life of adolescents
