Center for Oral and Systemic Diseases (COSD)

The University of North Carolina Center for Oral and Systemic Diseases (COSD) hosts a team of clinicians, scientists, and teachers conducting fundamental and clinical research designed to further understand how oral health impacts overall general health. We conduct research in areas of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, periodontal (gum) disease and pregnancy problems. We have opportunities for training and patient care. If you are interested in learning more about the mouth-body connection; if you are interested in training in this discipline (from college level, to PhD, post-doctoral and mid-career sabbatical), or if you need periodontal care and have medical problems please enter our site by selecting one of the buttons on the left.
