Mission

The UNC research Center for Oral and Systemic Diseases (COSD) is dedicated to conducting high-quality, multi-disciplinary, basic, clinical, and population-based research to explore the epidemiology, diagnosis, pathogenesis and treatment of oral conditions which are deleterious to overall systemic health. The principal research goal is to create new knowledge to ultimately improve the overall health and quality of life of the population. To achieve this goal, Center activities integrate research training, patient care and public service as components of its research mission.
