Minutes
April 23, 2002

In attendance (19) Spurgeon President: Danielle Tart, Vice President: Matt Barefoot, Treasurer: Rob Sanborn, Secretary: Marsha Black, Spurgeon Advisor: Mr. Tom Luten. The rest in attendance was recorded on the attendance sheet.

Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by President Danielle Tart.

Old Business:
  1. Spurgeon Awards Banquet/White Coat Ceremony: both events went well
  2. Fall Picnic: Tentatively scheduled September 7; Karen Raposa from Oral-B needs to be contacted in regards to funding the event.
  3. Vendor Day: October 11; Discussion about holding it at the Sheraton. Need to get a list of vendors and begin sending out mailings June 1st; John and Nick volunteered in gathering the information on venders and making a list.
  4. Student Lounge Renovations: new ceiling has been put placed
  5. Donut Hour with Dean Stamm: has been postponed until next semester, further details regarding the event will come in the future
  6. Web site, under student organizations: Spurgeon website will be linked under student central via student organizations. The website will post minutes from meeting, etc.
  7. Interviews Proposal, pending mtg. Academic Affairs: Information is still being procured.
  8. Constitution: 2 copies of the revised constitution that will be in Academic Affairs for those voting members of Spurgeon to look at and sign a paper stating they had looked the revised constitution over; The members whom can vote are Spurgeon officers, President and Spurgeon Rep from each class, ASDA, ADEA, AAWD, SRG, SNDA
New Business:
  1. Next meeting: 1st Tuesday back in May at 5:15pm in Rm 398 A and B
  2. Locker situation: on-hold
  3. 1st year representation: Jason Anden
  4. 2nd and 3rd years: need to have class elections
  5. Office room for organizations: 12 keys will be dispersed to the Presidents of organizations; computer will be placed in office; 2-3 shelves for us to store items will be available
  6. Welcoming committee: discussion concerning having a committee for welcoming student's from abroad or pre-dental students
  7. Dress Code: Discussion on dress code concerns.
  8. Proposal-ASDA: a proposal was made by ASDA concerning dues
