Meeting called to order at 5:15.

There will be no more meetings this semester.

Old Business:
  1. Spurgeon Awards Banquet/White Coat Ceremony: both events went well
  2. Vendor Day committees are as follows: In-house committee-SNDA and NCSHDA, Vendor contact committee-SRG and ADEA, Day-of committee-AAWD and ASDA. Jenny Mann will contact leaders for a meeting this week with Mr. Luten.
  3. Spurgeon Awards Banquet is Tuesday April 15th at 6:00. To purchase tickets see Rob Sanborn during lunch in the Brauer lobby or go to Academic Affairs trailer #1 and purchase the ticket from Carolyn Howard. She is directly inside the front door. Faculty and staff tickets are $37 and student tickets are $25. Also let the ticket salesman know if you would like the chicken or veggie for your dinner. This banquet is to celebrate graduating seniors, so don't miss it.
  4. All classes must have their banquet award winners, 3 faculty, 2 staff and 1 student, turned into Rob Sanborn by Friday April 4th. Presidents will receive reminders from Rob via email.
  5. The Computer meeting with Dr. Solow, Dr. George, Dr. Brunson and Dr. Maixner went smoothly. The submitted proposal for solving the computer problem is posted on the Spurgeon Bulletin Board. It proposes that 4 computers be left in the third and fourth floor clinics, 2 in each corner operatory. The meeting members voted in favor of this proposal.
  6. Table Clinics and White Coat Ceremony were both successful.
New Business:
  1. Vendor Day In-house committee and Vendor Contact committee need to contact dentists and vendors by May 5th. Mid-summer calls should be made and emails should be sent in the beginning of the fall semester.
  2. Two new submitted proposals are posted on the Spurgeon Bulletin Board. Meeting members voted in favor of both proposals. Proposal #1 is that class of 2004 and 2005 be provided with wireless cards. Proposal #2 is that from here on out, all national boards be given in lab 107.
  3. Cliff Schweitzer submitted a proposal that all graduates be called Doctor at graduation. Vote was in favor of submitted proposal.
  4. The Student-Faculty Mixer will be moved to the first month of the fall semester.
  5. Jenny Mann will speak on behalf of Spurgeon Dental Society to express opinions about lab work. The general consensus was that each student should be responsible for completing a set minimum of required lab work because it is a valuable learning experience. After completing requirements, the rest of the lab work could be sent out unless the student chooses to do the work him/herself. The question of funding for sending out lab work was raised.

Meeting adjourned at 5:28.

Respectfully submitted by Bobbie Perlow.
