A.     Vendor Day Funds

-Whoever participates in Vendor Day is available to receive funds

-Dr. Maixner instated a new proposal for allocation, which would remove Mr. Luten’s set fee from the funds and a new disbursement to Mr. Luten would be based on a percentage of earnings, instead of set amount.  Proposal will be voted on at next meeting.

-Eligibility for requests of funds by organizations is affected by attendance at Dental Society meetings and what the intended uses of funds are.

-Each organization needs to have all representatives present or appoint a substitute in order to fulfill a presence of a total of 9 out of 10 meetings
- Vendor Day Committees will be created at next meeting!!!!

 

 

IV.              New Business

 

A.     Table Clinics 2004

-March 26th (Parents Day)

-25 entries

-CE credit awarded: Presenters get 3 credits/Observers get 1 credit

-Time:  1:30 – 4:30pm / Award Presentation starts 4:30pm

-Followed by White-Coat Ceremony at 5pm in Clinic Auditorium

 

B.     Spurgeon Banquet 2004

-March 30th

-Ticket Prices Lowered: $15 per person for Seniors, DDS, DH, DA

-Location: Carolina Club

-Class Appreciation awards:

-Class Presidents need to collect results of nominations for awards for faculty, staff, student etc. and send results to Rob Sanborn or Carolyn Howard by Wed. March 24th.

-Faculty/Staff awards are in the form of certificates

-Student award is in the from of a plaque

 

C.     Brauer Hall Renovations

-New Old Dental Elevators scheduled operation May 5th

                                    -Old Dental will have new formal entrance w/ one card swipe 24

hour access completed by May 2004

(Complete Renovation of Brauer Hall) Projected 2 year project

Some specifics of upcoming renovations:

                                    -Renovations start ground floor and move up

-Rm. 311 will close September 2004 for renovations

-Temporary lab will be located in Groud Floor Old Dental and will be open by September (closing of 311).

Room 407

-Two possible plans still under consideration

-Elimination of auditorium seating for wheelchair access

-Long tables w/loose chairs to accommodate laptops for all students

-Seating will accommodate approx. 85 people

General

-Possible future New Dental Building (no sooner than 5-7 years)

            -Would serve to accommodate future enlarged enrollment

-New bathrooms will replace Brauer monumental staircase

-New hallway added leading to the outside patio beside Room 04

-Room 107 remains, with upgrades

-All floor lobbies renovated

-Student Lab ground floor of Old Dental will be reinstated (2006)

-Future Virtual Electronic Patient Simulation if sufficient funding

            -Units are $65,000 each (need alumni funding)

 

- Mr. Elsenrath is available to give a more in-depth presentation to    individual classes etc.
